We are part of the United Methodist Church, a global church body that seeks personal & social holiness by living into God's grace in Jesus Christ.

What we believe

GOD

We believe in one God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinct but inseparable, eternally one in essence and power. (See Article I of the Confession of Faith)

JESUS

We believe in Jesus Christ, the son of God, who came to humanity as God’s self-revelation.  He lived a sinless life, introduced and inaugurated the Kingdom of God, died for the sins of the world and was raised on the third day bringing reconciliation between God and humanity.  He now sits at the right hand of God the Father and he will return to bring redemption to all of creation.  (See Article II of the Confession of Faith and Article III of the Articles of Religion)

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the counselor, the advocate who proceeds from the Father and the Son, and leads God’s people in the God’s ways. The Spirit convicts people of their sin and empowers the church to be the body of Christ in this world leading the church to bear spiritual fruit through the use of spiritual gifts.  (See Article III of the Confession of Faith)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own merit or work.  The offering Christ freely made on the cross is the perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the world, redeeming humanity from all sin, so that no other satisfaction is required. (See Article IX of the Articles of Religion and Article VIII of the Confession of Faith)

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and contains all things necessary to salvation and understanding the story of God’s gracious action throughout history.  We believe that anything not found therein, nor proved thereby, should not be required of any person to be believed as an article of faith, or thought of as necessary for salvation. (See Article V of the Articles of Religion)

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  It is the redemptive fellowship in which the word of God is proclaimed and the sacraments (The Lord’s Supper and Baptism) are duly administered. By the filling of the Holy Spirit the Church exists for the maintenance of worship, the edification of believers and the redemption of the world. (See Article V of the Confession of Faith)
